Captain Margie and Captain Harold, who are
both Coast Guard licensed captains, will work with you individually in
a gentle and calm environment. It is important to understand how the
boat will react in a variety of situations. Together with your partner
you will learn to make the decisions necessary to safely and
comfortably control your boat. We will help you set goals so that you
will learn at your own pace and have a great time doing it.
Life
on the Island dreamer is not all study and boat handling. We believe
in taking time to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Keys. You can
snorkel and fish, kayak around the mangroves and socialize with other
cruisers. We will also visit local island restaurants where you can
enjoy fresh seafood, tropical drinks and live music. Let us show you
how enjoyable the cruising life can be.

showers, a galley with refrigerator and freezer, and a large settee
area in the main salon. The settee can be converted into a bed for two
when there are additional guests. The Miami Airport is 15 minutes from
our home port near South Beach and transportation from the airport is
included with all bookings.
Captain Margie O
Florida
Captain Margie was raised in the Panama Canal Zone. She was a scout in
Sea Exploring, a part of Boy Scouts of America, and earned her Coast
Guard Auxiliary Basic Seamanship Certificate while still in high
school. After moving to South Florida, she spent 12 years on the water
in different sized power boats, diving and snorkeling all over
Southeast Florida and the Keys.
The Florida Keys is a 170-miles-long island chain imbedded in turquoise water, running south from Miami and Key Biscayne to Key West and the Dry Tortugas. These islands are bordered by the only living coral reef in the United States. The gulf side of the keys is dotted with remote, mangrove islands and is a veritable shallow-water nursery for young plant and animal life. The subtropical climate and simple beauty of the Florida Keys make this American ecological treasure a sailing destination that should not be overlooked.
After cruising the East Coast of the USA, crossing to the Bahamas, and spending more time in the Keys, they purchased a 37’ Irwin. Since then, they have continued cruising in the Bahamas, the southeast USA and the Keys.
With the idea of opening their boat up to charters, they more recently purchased a 41’ Morgan, chartering it with the Boy Scouts of America High Adventure Sea Base in the Keys. In addition, they captained the 83’ Schooner Heritage of Miami in the BSA program and also ran day trips on the Heritage in Biscayne Bay from downtown Miami.
