Lauren grew up in Long Beach and Newport Beach, California. She grew up sailing to Catalina Island and racing Lasers out of the Long Beach Yacht Club. Before coming to St. Augustine she spent fifteen years in Washington DC. Once in St. Augustine she enrolled in ASA sailing courses before going on to get her Captain's license. Additionally, Captain Lauren is very active in the local Yacht Club where she served two years on the Board of Governors and supports the local sailboat races in the area.
