Fran has been sailing since grad school when she discovered the magic of sailing in 1973 in Mission Bay, San Diego California. She is a past commodore of the Women’s Sailing Association of Santa Monica Bay.

Her passion in life is teaching women the basics of sailing and watching the “a ha” moments when bowlines are tied correctly or a boat is put into a slip without the crunch sound!

She has been a coach for the Women’s Sailing Convention for over 11 years. She brings her boat Lightning and a load of rookie sailors from Marina Del Rey to Newport Beach and return!
